Position DescriptionThe IMSE department invites applications for a full-time, 9-month senior position at the rank of associate professor or professor to begin in Fall 2026. The department is seeking applicants with expertise in automation and robotics, and research and teaching interests in areas including, but not limited to, advanced manufacturing technologies, human-AI-robot teaming, and mechanical simulation.Candidates must have a terminal degree in industrial engineering or closely related field. Candidates who have a strong record of scholarship and who have the proven capability to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply. Service to the department, college, and university is expected. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Applicants should be eligible to work in the United States.In line with TTUs strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.

Major/Essential Functions

Required Qualifications
- A terminal degree (Ph.D.) in industrial engineering or closely related field.
- Expertise in current practice/pedagogy/theory in automation and robotics as evidenced by provision of research statement, teaching statement, and/or samples of written scholarship.
Preferred Qualifications
- A record of high-impact, peer-reviewed publications and external funding.
- 5+ years of teaching experience at the university level, including undergraduate and/or graduate courses taught as faculty member.
- Evidence of sustained involvement (over 5 years) in institutional service such as student recruitment activities, curricular and/or program-development activities, leadership of extra-curricular activities and programs.
